Pierre Huyghe: Artistic Exploration between Arles and Venice

Pierre Huyghe, born in Paris in 1962, is a contemporary French artist renowned for his immersive installations and works that question perception and reality. His work, often interactive, blends art, science and technology, offering the public a unique sensory experience.

Arles: “After UUmwelt” at LUMA

Luma

For this exhibition, the artist covered the floor of the Grande Halle with a layer of compacted earth, creating an environment conducive to interaction between visitors and the biological elements present. This black soil, rich in micro-organisms, was used to support installations such as “Mind's Eyes”, sculptures composed of biological and synthetic materials, evolving according to changes in their environment.

Venise : “Liminal”at the Punta della Dogana

In 2024, Huyghe inaugurated “Liminal” at the Punta della Dogana, part of the Pinault Collection in Venice. This exhibition presents a series of new works alongside creations from the last ten years, transforming the museum into a dynamic space in perpetual evolution. The installations, populated by human and non-human creatures, become the site for the formation of ever-changing subjectivities, offering a reflection on otherness and perception.
